Approval of the January 15, 2025 Board Meeting Minutes
- Motion made, seconded and unanimously approved
Public Comment & Announcements
- D Davies- reminder to GFPD BoD the investment in the emergency access route and support for the Mill Levy on the May 2025 Ballot
- G Anderson reviewed the history and consideration for G W&S Mill Levy and reiterated support for the emergency access Mill Levy
Financial Reports
- Review of January 2025 Financials- C Jantzef
- Motion made, seconded and unanimously approved to accept financials as presented.
Reports of Officers, Committees, Professional Consultants
- Administrator/Training Coordinator Max Herte
- 3 FFs EMT nearly 50% complete
- Genesee was selected to host the mobile burn trailer(to be parked on the top lot)
- Max shared photos and information regarding the training exercise for a multi injury event. 7 local agencies attended
- Deputy Chief Joe Auster’s Report
- Reported on average reporting time for GFR 11 min
- Apparatus Coordinator - D Hammock
- Recruiting Coordinator - D. Olsen
- 1 Recruit pending
- Facilities Coordinator - J. Auster
- Station door repaired - otherwise all is fine
- Medical Coordinator - D. Barenburg
- Developing training for Direct-to-Scene response
- Highland Rescue is able to lend 3 AEDs for the District. These are strategically placed throughout the District to enable direct to scene and reduce response time
- Wildland Coordinator - P. Greenstone
- Attended Wildland Fire Academy in CO Springs. A process change is assembling Strike teams in field and then deploying vs deploying from multiple agencies and developing the Strike team at incident

- Community Liaison K. Marklund
- GFR, HR and FHF are receiving jointly the autism awareness traning
Old Business
- Ladris termination letter sent- awaiting response
- Discussion and vote on upcoming May 2025 Election
- Board reviewed ballot questions and wording for ballot
- Ballot Issue B is $8M for engineering costs and construction
- Ballot issue A for any capital for fire equipment and for maintenance on the road
- Ballot issue C asks for approval for GFPD to waive current property tax limit
- Additional item included in BoD approval is the Records Management Manual- adopting the CO Special Districts Records Mngt
- Resolution calling for Regular BoD Election
- After discussion of the pros and cons associated with the SEAR project, of other Department financial needs, and the commitment by the BoD in a prior motion to push the project to an election, a motion was made by director Harris and seconded by director Brewer to approve on the Resolution for all above items. Motion moved, seconded and unanimously approved on the Resolution for all above items

- S Masztaler to Lieutenant
- Updated GFPD Bylaws to be reviewed and voted on March 2025 meeting
- Directors Harris and Mefford met with Foothills Fire District regarding working more closely together
- K Wynn reviewed Ballot issue protocol regarding what GFPD is able to do: provide factual info, no opinion or suggest voting in favor of issues. Chief Boyles is following up on working with ambassadors to assist with ways to provide education to the communities (HOAs)
- GFR has been invited and accepted to the Big Chili Cookoff in Evergreen 9/6/2025
