Genesee Fire Rescue CARES

INTRODUCING Genesee Fire Rescue Cares Program

Genesee Fire Rescue (GFR) is pleased to announce the creation of our new Community Assistance Referral and Education Services (CARES) program!

The Genesee Fire Rescue CARESย program is a groundbreaking initiative designed to extend GFR’sย commitment beyond emergency response and into community resources and education. Genesee Fire Rescue CARESย is a free program, registered with the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, that focuses on connecting residents to essential services, offering tailored referrals, and providing education to empower individuals and families to navigate challenges with confidence.

At GFR, we understand that thriving communities are built on support and collaboration. Whether you’re seeking guidance, resources, or knowledge, CARES is here to help you find the solutions you need. Together, weโ€™re not just protecting livesโ€”weโ€™re focused on building a stronger, more resilient community.

Our CARES program provides the following services to the Genesee community:

  • Information to residents about health and safety education and available services.
  • In-home risk reduction assessments to help identify potential hazards and enhance safety.
  • Referrals for and information concerning common issues faced by our community and alternative resources to the 911 system.
  • Safety-oriented resources to help reduce risks around the home and to prevent falls and injuries.
  • Collaboration with other community resources available to assist our residents.

We are also very excited to announce that our CARES program was selected to receive grant funding from the Foothills Regional Emergency Medical and Trauma Advisory Council. Read more about that update here!
